Fundamentals of Materials in Autodesk VRED

Fundamentals of Materials in Autodesk VRED covers the basics of how VRED handles materials, starting with the Material Editor and moving on to textures and automotive-ready shaders. You will learn how to create, assign, edit, and organize materials, work with basic material types like plastic, metal, and glass, and use textures to add surface detail such as color, bump, and roughness.

The course also introduces the Asset Manager and its automotive library, so you can apply ready-made carpaint, tire, and glass presets to your models. In the final lecture, you will set up material switches and connect them to variant sets for interactive design reviews.
